Notes: These beautifully simplified bird forms embody many of the qualities associated with mid-century Japanese design: restraint, balance, and quiet elegance. Reduced to flowing geometric volumes, each bird is defined by only a handful of carefully considered planes, creating sculptures that feel simultaneously modern and timeless.

The softly mottled dark bronze-green surface gives each piece considerable depth, with subtle variations in colour that enhance the hand-worked appearance of the cast metal. The larger bird rises slightly taller while the smaller companion sits lower, creating a natural dialogue when displayed together.

Although the birds possess an unmistakably modernist aesthetic, they also evoke the peaceful symbolism traditionally associated with doves—companionship, harmony and tranquility. Whether placed on a shelf, console, or coffee table, they function less as decorative ornaments than as quietly confident sculptural forms.
